Post Treatment

What happens after my treatment?

As either adult lice or live eggs were present, a follow up treatment should have been scheduled for 10 days time. The reason a follow up treatment is necessary is because as of today ALL live lice have been eliminated, however there will still be live eggs present which will take up to 10 days to hatch.

These insects are very small. They need heat from the scalp to grow & a close blood supply to feed. These insects, even at day 10 are not yet old enough to breed and generally will not transfer to another person, however taking steps to minimize risk is recommended.

Not everyone will require a second treatment. It will depend on what is present on the scalp during your initial visit. After your initial treatment, usually around day 3-4, your scalp may start to itch slightly as the baby insects start to hatch. This is normal. If persistent itching is occurring, a conditioner comb through can offer relief. THESE INSECTS ARE TOO YOUNG TO BREED!

If you notice any redness or irritation on the skin other than caused by scratching, please call your technician as a reaction to the product/s may have occurred, particularly if over the counter products have also been used recently. The Second follow up treatment (in 10 days) is charged at the same price as the first/initial treatment.

WE CAN GUARANTEE 100% SUCCESS OF YOUR CURRENT HEAD LICE CASE IF OUR CERTIFIED TECHNICIANS DO BOTH TREATMENTS provided a reinfestation has not occurred.

Why Other Treatments Fail

A simple test to prove the effectiveness of any Head Lice product is to apply as per manufacturers instructions. Once the product has been washed out and combing has commenced, all insects should be dead (not just playing dead). A simple way to check is to place the insects on a piece of paper towel and watch them closely. More often than not, the insects will get up and walk away after 20 minutes. This equals a big fat FAIL.

Most over the counter products rely on poisoning the lice, which these clever little devils have built up immunity to. Our products however work on contact with the lice and actually DRY OUT the insects from the outside in. Our range of products was developed from years of experience and can be used on the most sensitive of scalps.
